GRAB

GRAB is a French non-profit created in 1979, dedicated to on-farm research, and governed by organic farmers mainly.

Our staff are recognised as experts on organic fruit, vegetable and grapevine. Research topics addressed are diverse, from cultivar assessment, functional biodiversity, soil fertility or agroforestry. Research is mostly achieved on commercial farms to ensure coherence in findings.

IN FRAMEWORK

GRAB will be mostly involved in the ECOORCHARD project, aiming at facilitating farmers use of simple methods to observe functional biodiversity in order to develop knowledge and change decisions or practices. This work led to a handbook that has been used in 11 EU countries by 50 apple growers over 2 years, with positive feedbacks in terms of knowledge, comprehension, time requested. This experience will be reproduced in the FRAMEwork project by adapting tools to crops and possible local constraints.
