Professor Petr Sklenička
Professor, rector and head of the Land Research Group at CULS.
Prof. Sklenicka is a landscape ecologist with a strong background in interdisciplinary research. One of his main focuses is the relationship between farmers’ values and socio-economic background and the environmental health of their land. He is the author or co-author of over 180 peer-reviewed publications, published e.g. in Nature Communications, Proceedings of the Royal Society B – Biological Sciences, Landscape Ecology, Land Use Policy, Applied Energy, Journal of Environmental Psychology, Environmental Management, Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment, and Ecological Engineering. He has led or has been engaged in over 20 international and national projects on the environmental value of farmland, funded by National Science Foundation USA, the Czech Science Foundation, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, and others. In 2006, he has spent a semester as a visiting professor at Utah State University and he has given invited lectures at a number of universities around the world. He is a member of v various policy boards for the Czech government, other institutes and universities. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Mining, Reclamation and Environment” (Q2), Taylor & Francis.
